GRASSROOTS BIKE TOUR 1.6.2019, 1–4pm
Are you wondering:
– Where to get recycle food in Helsinki?
– Where to fix your bike yourself?
– Where to do urban gardening?
– Enjoy free sauna?
Or do you know the places but never gotten around to check them out? Now’s a good chance to see where to find all this and enjoy Helsinki summer biking at the same time!
On June 1st we will bike to Keru community fridge, Pasila Bike Kitchen and Dodo’s Turntable and discuss other Helsinki-based grassroots sustainable alternatives along the way. At all stops people introduce you to their initiatives and how to get involved. Our tour will end at Sompasauna where those who like can enjoy sauna and everyone can enjoy the views before they will change drastically in next years. While biking you can also get to know other like-minded people and have a chat about your experiences.
The ride will be roughly from 1pm to 4pm. We will provide some vegan snacks for the ride. If the weather is really bad, we will try Sunday June 2nd instead.
In order to have a relaxed bike ride, the group will be limited to around 20 people. Please sign up by Saturday May 25th sending an email to helsinki@maanystavat.fi. We will send more info (including exact starting location around Kallio area) once the registration closes and we know a little more about the weather conditions.
This bike ride is organized by Friends of the Earth Helsinki together with Keru community fridge, Pasila Bike Kitchen and Dodo.
